"Protect Me"

This piece utilizes the symbolic nature of the rosary in combination the traditions of religion. "Protect Me" is a new-age scientific rosary that speaks to the nature of protection and, the beauty and horror of the unknown. The "rosary" beads show recoginzable aspects of human life. Scientific discoveries have allowed us to use knowledge to portray illusions of magic and miracles, and have enabled many previously thought to be "miracles" to become a reality. This piece is a result of my own struggle with religion and science. Science has proven to prolong life, and to leave people in constant disbelief and amazement. My constant amazment in science has caused me to gravitate in it's direction, and I hope, that it will continue to protect me.
